Well, we survived being snowed in last week and now we’re looking forward to life this week. Gray is scheduled to have blood tests this afternoon to determine if he is ready for surgery. If all comes back at the appropriate levels, then Gray is scheduled for surgery TOMORROW! We never ever could have imagined praying that either of our children WOULD have surgery but we’re most certainly ready for this to be done. We want to have Gray’s tumor removed and we are anxious to hear the good (we mean GREAT, WONDERFUL, MIRACULOUS) report that they were able to get all of it!! There could be no better news!! Please pray with us today that Gray’s blood tests will come back above and beyond normal. He needs strength for surgery and we need emotional and mental strength as well. We are also asking the Lord for peace that passes understanding during this time. While we are ready for Gray to undergo this surgery, it’s still indescribable all of the thoughts and feelings that you have as a parent of a sick child, especially a child with cancer. While we do feel that a weight will be lifted once the surgery is completed there is still such a long road ahead and so many “un-knowns” right now. During Gray’s surgery, they will once again check his bone marrow to see if any cancer has returned to that area. Please pray for another good report about his marrow. If for some reason the cancer has returned to his bone marrow then we have been forewarned by the doctors that the prognosis from that point forward isn’t as hopeful. We need good news. Again, we can’t thank you all enough for your constant support of our family and your constant prayers for us and Grayson. It means the world. While our minds are flooded with questions, thoughts both good and bad, constant prayer and we battle endless “what if’s” we wanted to share in today’s post a funny picture! While we were giving Gray his bath last night, big brother Seth decided to “give Gray hair”!! Sure it’s bubble hair but we think it works!!
“O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you: my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water.” Psalm 63:1
